Our Faith in Action
Catholic Life and Mission
St Leo’s is first and foremost a Catholic school, with the religious dimension of the College being a shared partnership between families, parish communities and the College. Family and friends are encouraged to join in the many events that occur during the year when the College gathers together to celebrate our Faith.
Religion is an essential and comprehensive area of study for all students and prayer is an important part of daily life. A real sense of community exists at St Leo’s, and our Chapel is the spiritual heart.
The College holds Spirituality Days for junior students and Retreats for senior students which are tailored to meet both their spiritual needs and their social and emotional development. These are specially designed to help students develop and nurture their spiritual life amidst busy their academic schedules.
Christian leadership is fostered through our Youth Ministry Program, which offers a variety of activities in the areas of advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelisation, justice and service, leadership development, as well as prayer and worship.
A child’s education is a journey that benefits from a strong, healthy partnership between peers, dedicated teachers, families and the parish community.
Prayer at St Leo’s
Prayer is an important part of the life at St Leo’s. Mass is offered in the College Chapel each Friday. St Leo’s prides itself on the effort and attention it gives to liturgies and masses, and our real-life passion plays, and nativities bring to life our rich Christian traditions.

You called Pope Saint Leo the Great|
to guide your people by his word and example.
We ask you to fill our community
with the spirit of respect and dignity.
Guide us in the light of your truth.
May we grow in purpose and learning,
And proclaim your wisdom to the world.
Give us courage and hope to face the unknown.
May we be faithful to God’s law in our hearts
And live with the peace of the Holy Spirit.
God help us to bear witness
To the mystery of the cross and resurrection

House Saints
Our eight St Leo’s House Patrons are examples of focusing on the needs of the poor through a contemporary Christian lens in the Edmund Rice tradition. Francis Xavier, Josephine Bakhita, Ignatius of Loyola, Mother Teresa, Peter Chanel, Catherine McAuley, Thomas Aquinas and Mary MacKillop model for students the example of Jesus gives to us in our world today. These call us to be active Christian leaders who take the Gospel seriously through our use of prayer, scripture, service and community.
