Creative and Performing Arts
Our CAPA extra-curricular program is exceptional, with numerous opportunities for students to pursue their musical passions through various band, ensemble and choir programs and display their talents at festivals and regular College concerts. With the department expanding, there are even more opportunities for students with the introduction of art clubs, drama groups and dance ensembles.
The success of our CAPA program is largely thanks to our high quality, dedicated staff. St Leo’s students regularly win awards and eisteddfods, are invited to participate in ARTEXPRESS and Music Encore, and given many other exhibition and performance opportunities. We had an unprecedented three students offered places at NIDA for 2019.
The St Leo’s Showcase is an impressive community event held annually in September, featuring outstanding student works across the spectrum of creative and performing arts by all year groups.
The annual St Leo’s musical is another highlight of our calendar where our students exhibit their music, drama and dancing talents. Our recent 2019 theatre-in-the-round production of ‘Happy Days – the musical’ was a huge success. See our Happy Days highlights video of the production.
These events are open to the community and we invite you to come along and see the exceptional standard for yourself.
