Activities beyond the classroom are an essential part of a student’s holistic development. We provide an array of co-curricular activities designed to introduce students to a variety of challenges and experiences, and allow them to extend themselves in areas of interest and passion.

We strongly encourage all students to make the most of the many opportunities available at St Leo’s and try as many different things as possible to find their passion.

The wide range of extra-curricular activities available at St Leo’s each year depending on student interests usually include:

Academic

• Debating and public speaking, which develop student skills in critical and creative thinking, reasoning and persuasion. St Leo’s competes in the Catholic Schools Debating Association (CSDA) competition, as well as a number of other public speaking competitions.
• Da Vinci Decathalon
• Science and Maths Clubs
• A range of STEM and other Pathways workshops

Leadership

• A range of student leadership opportunities such as the Student Representative Council
• Peer Support and Peer Mentoring programs
• Duke of Edinburgh Program

• Weekly Rosary and Mass in our Chapel

Sports

St Leo’s has a strong sporting culture, with our weekly Sport for Life program and tiered opportunities for talented athletes to progress to higher representative levels including national and international. See Sport at St Leo’s

Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA)

Our exceptional co-curricular music program includes various band, ensemble and choir programs, and an bi-annual musical or drama production.

Additionally, the College offers an impressive 20+ co-curricular CAPA Ensembles and our specialist Private Music Tuition Program. See CAPA

Other Co-curricular Activities

Students are encouraged to enter local, State and National competitions and challenges relating to areas of study or co-curricular activities where St Leo’s students regularly receive awards.

Other arranged extra-curricular activities include:

• Special interest groups, clubs and activities which vary from year to year depending upon student interests, which currently incudes Chess, Spanish, Photography, Lego and Dungeons & Dragons Clubs.

Global Experiences

St Leo’s offers our students a number of opportunities to travel in organised tours to a range of different countries, including:
