About St Leo’s
Located on six hectares in the leafy suburb of Wahroonga, St Leo’s is the only co-educational Catholic secondary school on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. We are renowned for our caring, inclusive community and our commitment to knowing each student and growing their unique potential.
Along with consistently strong academic results and a wide range of co-curricular offerings, we offer a holistic view of education and wellbeing, with a focus on transferrable ‘deep learning’ skills that will equip all our students for the future and create lifelong learners.
We aim to help students find their passion and develop their unique talents so they can shape and change the world for the better. Our wonderful community and range of opportunities form well-rounded students for whom anything is possible.
St Leo’s recently completed an extensive $25 million building and technology upgrade. This includes our new state-of-the-art Mary MacKillop Centre for Creative and Performing Arts, Design, Technology and Hospitality which features a drama and dance theatre with retractable seating, art gallery and visual art studios, specialty music rooms, two commercial-grade kitchens, two new TAS workshops for woodwork, large meeting and gallery spaces, and numerous other flexible learning spaces.
Other outstanding facilities include our newly refurbished Chapel, new Aquinas Resource Centre with library, cafe and alfresco student areas, a multipurpose indoor centre for up to 1500 people used for indoor sports, assemblies, stage productions and events, and two full-sized sporting ovals.
Our custom-built online learning platform allows students to record and track their progress in a range of areas, giving them learning ownership and a digital portfolio to take with them when they leave to show potential employers. It is one of many ways learning technologies are integrated into daily life at St Leo’s in a safe environment.
Our innovative Pathways Program works with students and their families to navigate life beyond school, developing industry and higher education partnerships, as well as shaping new offerings and approaches to learning here at St Leo’s.
