Pathways and Careers
The St Leo’s Pathways and Partnerships Program is a unique and innovative program for Years 7 to 12 aimed at better preparing students and their families for life beyond school. We do this by:
- giving students the skills to prepare them for the ever-changing 21st century workforce and the skills which employers are looking for. These so-called enterprise skills are what we call our St Leo’s Deep Learning Skills, or ‘6Cs’ – Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Character and Christian Citizenship.
- providing students with various and regular experiences with business, industry and further education. Our students, from Year 7 onwards, have access to: workplace visits, employer incursions/ workshops at our college, employer & industry talks, tertiary education visits and talks, apprenticeship, traineeships & SBAT’s options etc.
- supporting parents and carers to discuss potential career pathways with their child. Our parents have access to our Study & Career Database, where they can find all career and study related information. From tertiary course guides, to SBAT & TVET information, Apprenticeships/ Traineeships options to How to Find Work materials and lot’s more. Plus we run Career Workshops for parents, both online as face-to-face at our college, to provide our parents with the tools they need to prepare their child for the future world of work.
